Always a fan favourite at #ILA26: the German #A400M 🇩🇪✈️ The German Air Force operates the largest A400M fleet in the world. They contribute vital airlift capabilities and are a key asset of force projection in international @NATO missions. Airbus is currently exploring additional capabilities for this advanced military transport aircraft, such as: ➡️ Extending its cargo capacity from 37 to 40 tonnes. ➡️ Using it as a mothership for drones. ➡️ Implementing satellite-based navigation. ➡️ Equipping it with a modular firefighting kit.

An exciting step for European sovereignty at ILA Berlin: "Team Gen 6", a group of eight leading German defence and aviation companies signed a strategic positioning paper. The German and French governments have announced a realignment of the European Future Combat Air System (FCAS). While the development of the overarching 'System of Systems' is progressing as before, the 6th-generation fighter aircraft integrated within it requires a new, agile industrial setup. Together with @AUTOFLUG, @DiehlDefence, @HENSOLDT, @Liebherr, @MBDADeutschland, @MTUAeroEng, and @RohdeSchwarz, we at Airbus Defence and Space stand ready to take on the responsibility for a 6th-generation fighter aircraft. Closely integrated with the German partners, the Spanish industry is also forming up with the companies Indra, Airbus, @Grupo_Oesia, GMV, @ITPAero, and Sener. As Team Gen 6, we have the capabilities and the capacities. Now, we are looking for close alignment with policymakers and the Air Force to drive forward a superior European air combat system for collective security.

The first 'Made in India' Airbus C295 military transport aircraft has conducted its first test flight from the Final Assembly Line in Vadodara 🇮🇳, marking a milestone for Indian aviation and defence. This maiden test flight is a crucial step in the aircraft's post production testing process. As the first of 40 aircraft to be built in India, the test flight advances the programme's objective of delivering the first 'Made in India' C295 aircraft this year to the Indian Air Force. A game changer in the Government of India's 'Make in India' vision, the C295 India programme is the first instance of a military aircraft being manufactured in India by the private sector. The programme's progress reflects the steady and dedicated work of Airbus, Tata Advanced Systems Limited and the several Indian MSMEs, which are manufacturing parts for the aircraft across India. The Royal Thai Navy has ordered two Airbus #C295 in enhanced transport configuration. These aircraft will be able to perform surveillance and Search and Rescue activities, in addition to logistic missions. With the first delivery schedule for the end of 2028, the C295s will be equipped with an Electro-Optical/Infra-Red (EO/IR) sensor suite, which will enable the Royal Thai Navy to detect, classify, and identify targets at sea or on land, operating effectively in both day and night conditions.
