Here's the second beat I made on the Akai MPC Sample. Let me know what you think below. I've realized that this machine has forced me to get straight to the point and not procrastinate. I've realized that using a program like Ableton (where there is infinite hard drive space and capability), I often sample things with no intention of using them until later. And while having a hard drive full of samples feels good--nothing feels better than making a beat with a sample that you just found right there on the spot. I'm getting back to that now. So I've decided to keep the MPC Sample in my bedroom, on the desk that's right next to my bed. This is how I was making music from 1999-2005, but over the years I had forgotten how much of a difference it makes to keep your tools close to you. I'm still learning how to freak this machine, but will keep y'all posted on my progress with it. Thinking of putting some beatmaking videos on youtube. Would any of y'all be interested?
