Just spent the afternoon wrestling with a client proposal. We had three different pricing tiers floating around and a debate on how many hours to allocate to each. The temptation is always to push the "Accelerated" tier. More hours, more revenue. Instead, we recommended the baseline Foundation phase for the first 90 days. Why? Because building substantive, well-designed credibility takes time, and trying to sprint before the trust is built usually ends in a churned client. Sometimes the best sales strategy is telling the client to spend less money with you (at least to start).

I was building a massive 115-step sales and marketing operating plan for a client using Claude. Not only did it help map out the granular activities across 14 pipeline stages, but it actually stopped me to flag a financial inconsistency. It pointed out that my target average deal size wasn't an independent variable - it checked the math against our SQLs and win rate, proving the revenue target still held up, but forced me to recalibrate my SDR headcount assumptions to make the math work in reality. It’s one thing to generate content. It’s entirely another for an AI to look at a 5-year financial model and say, “Hey, your math checks out, but your headcount doesn't support this volume.” If you're only using AI as a typewriter, you're missing out on a world-class Chief of Staff.
