After two hours of robust opposition, thousands of letters, and countless phone calls / meetings, unfortunately SB 71 passed. How did your House Rep vote?
"We are killing our natural resources. And our conservative lawmakers—the very ones [with a] fishing pole or a shotgun in their campaign ads [...] are actively participating in the criminal acts against them. All in the name of campaign donations..." #SB71alreporter.com/2026/02/16/op…
TODAY IS THE DAY! Grab your phone and call, email, and share! SB 71 will be on the floor of the House TODAY at 1 pm. Call call call (and email) & tell your House Rep vote NO on SB 71!

I really hope this idiotic bill doesn't make it out of the house. A perfect example of what is wrong with the entire system. Guy puts up a bill, written by the lobbying group who donated to his campaign, and it happens all the way to Congress and with both parties.

SB 71 will be on the House Floor for a vote on TUESDAY. Keep calling, keep emailing, keep sharing. Please tell our legislators that the most important thing they can do to protect Alabama's water quality this session is to vote NO on SB 71: alabamarivers.salsalabs.org/…
Our legislators are realizing that the most important thing they can do to protect water in this session is to vote NO on SB 71, the terrible bill that threatens the state's ability to protect Alabamians from toxic chemicals. This bill will NOT be voted on this week - whew!
Your calls, emails and demands for protection of our water are being heard. Stay tuned in case it is picked for the House Floor next week. THANK YOU for letting your elected officials know what is important to you - the health of your communities & the health of our environment!
