A product and interaction desiger from Dublin with a keen interest in design that makes the world a better place. IxD / Service Designer at Mater Hospital.
So proud, our StrokeLINK team won @LeanMater prize for Best Process or Service Innovation in healthcare award at Lean Symposium. This work wouldn’t be possible without the incredible StrokeLINK nurses, @MaterStroke MDT and the super support from @MaterTransform and @NCAD_Dublin
So amazing to see you @ProgrammeSpark@heffernan_c1 and to chat about StrokeLINK service, co-designed tools and to show you our new website (coming very soon to patients and family members). Exciting times ahead @MaterStroke @MaterTransform
@ixd_ncad !

It’s such buzz about the Mater Hospital this week with the @NCAD_Dublin design students taking on realworld healthcare challenges. 5 Days, 10 Challenges actively being explored. Can’t wait to see the progress tomorrow and concepts on Friday.
Exciting to see the Big IDea staff ID project scale at this mornings NCHD induction to most specialities at the Mater Hospital. This design enables healthcare professionals to see who is who, at a glance. The initiative has been co-designed with our healthcare workers.
Huge shoutout to @ERowan13 who initially spotted the challenge and co-designed the solution of the Big ID ‘add on’ card, that was inducted with NCHDs today.
Such impressive stats from Strokelink @MaterTransform
@AlanMacDesign giving background the amazing Spark supported project.
Who better to tell us than the patients themselves in these lovely video clips.

In October 2018, As part of my MA @ixd_ncad, I partook Mater - NCAD design week. 4 years later, I am working with @MaterTransformation, guiding @ixd_ncad@MSc_MDD_NCAD design students at Design Week 2022; who are designing for 8 challenges brought forward by healthcare staff.
ALT Dehlia and Fíona talking with nurse about the challenges with current nursing assessment forms.
ALT Medication that is housed in Cardiac Arrest Trolley.
ALT Lutetium-psma therapy to help treat prostate cancer involves administering radioactive medicine to the patient.
Quintain, Mo and Leah are exploring how they can design an educational tool for patients, family and anyone who is in close contact with the patient so that know how to protect each other whilst spending moments together.
Today is only day 2, and the students are absorbed in design research and fantastic insights have emerged! Can't wait to see their design outcomes! For those interested, follow @MaterTransform; who will be sharing NCAD-Mater Design Week 2022 on their twitter and instagram!
A huge amount of works gone into this. A delight to see Living well, a resource book and healthcare tool for @MaterStroke, Strokelink and most importantly our patients printed professionally in its intended form. #designforhealth#healthcare what a moment !
