It was wonderful to attend ShowCanada’s Opening Night Awards Dinner in Banff last week as we celebrated their 40th anniversary! ShowCanada continues to bring together leaders from across the Canadian and U.S. film exhibition and distribution industry to strengthen industry connections and showcase the future of entertainment. There is no better place to celebrate than Banff, where storytelling truly comes to life in person and on screen. Our government is proud to support the continued growth of Alberta’s film and television industry, including through an $8 million investment in the Alberta Media Fund in Budget 2026 and a $25,000 contribution through the Alberta Film Commission in support of this year’s ShowCanda event.
