Karen was a great leader and built an incredible Center for Clinical Pharmacology... She was an amazing asset to our community (writ large)...and a great friend. R.I.P.
Karen was a wonderful woman and one of the most effective and dynamic people I have met at @WUSTLmed what a big loss. RIP, Karen. Obituary: Karen Seibert, executive director of pharmacology center, 61 source.wustl.edu/2020/11/obi… via @WUSTL

Even as a non-native speaker there's no question this privileges some of us. It seems there's a pretty easy check: Would you consider it a barrier if you had to write your next paper in Mandarin or Spanish? Both have more native speakers than English.
Are native English speakers privileged in academia?
