The Toronto Police Service is introducing new measures to strengthen public safety in response to a more complex security environment.
Today, we announced the launch of our new Counter-Terrorism Security Unit and increasing high-visibility deployments in key areas across the city. These steps are not tied to a specific-threat — they’re about prevention, readiness, and keeping our communities safe.

There is no such thing as a “routine” traffic stop.
Every stop carries the unknown. On February 19, that unknown resulted in the seizure of 90 kilograms of cocaine and an arrest. Our officers approach every interaction prepared, alert, & committed to community safety.
Feb 20
During what was supposed to be a routine traffic stop on February 19, @tps33div officers located and seized six boxes containing 90 kilograms of cocaine. The driver was arrested.
Thanks to the great work by our officers, these dangerous drugs are now off our streets.
