The AMA President is correct - "There are 83 million Americans today who don't have access to primary care," said Jesse Ehrenfeld. "The problem is here. It's acute in rural parts of the country, it's acute in underserved communities." But in addition to the primary care physician shortage, there is a greater problem of affordability - yes, lots of folks now have insurance 'coverage' but with high deductibles and co-pays, people find it hard to even afford primary care! There should be NO co-pays, no co-insurance, and NO deductibles when you see a primary care physician! Regardless of what type of insurance you have.
