I was a chronic procrastinator. Always looking for the “perfect business” to start. Until I discovered this new business model which crossed over $2,000,000 in revenue within 5 years - that anybody can start. So I figured I’d try building my own multi million dollar pooper scooper empire. Yep, you heard me. And while I’m at it, I’ll be sharing the (sometimes disgusting) journey with you. Here’s how I’m going to do it ->

Day 79/366 of Growing on X: You can become a one man marketing agency in 2026. A whisky sipping Donald Draper from your bedroom. Develop specialised skills -> Automate the rest with A.I.

Day 78/366 of Growing on X: I managed to turn my newsletter into 5 different X posts in 5 minutes.  This is definitely a scalable system.

Day 74/366 of Growing on X: If you want your reader to buy, you need to stimulate their emotions. Save and memorise these 8 core biological human desires.  These are fundamental to human experience and create the biggest reaction. Drew Eric Whitman presents “The Life Force 8” - 8 desires biologically hardwired into our DNA. 1. Survival, enjoyment of life, and life extension. 2. Enjoyment of food and beverages. 3. Freedom from fear, pain, and danger. 4. Sexual companionship. 5. Comfortable living conditions. 6. To be superior, winning, and keeping up with the Joneses. 7. Care and protection of loved ones. 8. Social approval. Now check your last 5 posts.  Did they tap into any of these desires?

Day 72/366 of Growing on X: If you don’t understand people, you don’t understand copywriting. Copywriting is empathy at scale.  Which is why AI can never replace copywriters and is why empathy is your edge.

Day 71/366 of Growing on X: Don’t assume your reader has brain damage.  Studies show people with brain damage who can’t feel emotion are literally incapable of making decisions.  That’s why it’s your job to make your reader FEEL something. Otherwise they’ll never do what you want them to.

Day 70/366 of Growing on X: Which fire extinguisher is more valuable? 1. This fire extinguisher can put out house fires fast.  2. This fire extinguisher will save your family from dying in a house fire.  It’s obviously the second right? Because it relates to a core human desire. Same fire extinguisher. Deeper benefit.

Day 68/366 of Growing on X: If you want to be a copywriter, you need to do regular copywork. Many people want to be a copywriter but either: a) Can’t sit down and actually write. or b) Aren’t any good.  Copywork solves both.

Day 67/366 of Growing on X: Got the next 4 days off from my 9-5. It’s time for a marketing sprint. 4 days in the trenches.  Come out the other side making twice as much as my 9-5.  Take your marks…

Day 66/366 of Growing on X: My Advertising Process: 1. Start with the end result. What do you want to happen? Be detailed. 2. Select the Avatar. Know who you are talking to. Research. 3. Reverse engineer how to take the Avatar to the end result. 4. Be brutally honest. This only works if you are radically honest. Is your work any good? The avatar is constantly saying “so what?”.

Day 64/366 of Growing on X: You need to think like a pirate when you travel. Most people work 48 weeks just to blow it all in 4. They run a leaking ship. And it’s not sustainable. The average person travels overseas to adventure and to spend. But a pirate takes the seas to adventure and to profit. Once you have a profitable personal brand, you can travel like a pirate. Right now you’re running a leaking ship.

Day 65/366 of Growing on X: You wouldn’t pick up a guitar and start composing global hits. So why would you expect to write million dollar copy out of the gates? Learn the craft in the same way you would learn an instrument - by playing existing songs. All you gotta do is search for great ads or ads that have generated lots of sales and write them out by hand. You are exposed to quality which quite literally rubs off on you. I’ve done copywork every day for a month before, but want to unlock a whole new level of challenge and consistency. That’s why I’m committing to an hour of copywork every day for a year. Here's to the grind ahead.

Day 63/366 of Growing on X: Andy Murray doesn’t have “natural ability”. He’s just putting in 50x more hours than the average golfer. People like to hand-wave success as “natural-ability” because they don’t want to confront the difficult conversations about how they choose to spend their time. They can feel good about themselves and continue wasting their day. youtube.com/shorts/7cluNy4bO…
