Wow, it turns out I played a role in pushing Ta-Nehisi Coates to look more deeply into Palestine.
I was the woman who yelled on the mic about Palestine and got shouted down at his event with Jeffrey Goldberg, it was at the Sixth & I synagogue in DC I think in 2014.
That was really hard to do, I remember being very nervous about saying what I said. I’m so proud I did it.
If anyone reading this knows Ta-Nehisi, please tell him thank you for listening and for his willingness to learn and speak out.

I will say seeing the disparity in how white NY media journalists are trying to protect Olivia Nuzzi from the consequences of her own actions juxtaposed against how they stayed silent when a Black journalist signed a petition last year speaks volumes.

This is gutting news — and not just for us Paste contributors personally, who are losing such a thoughtful and ambitious editor in Anna, but for the state of TV criticism more broadly. This beat, faster even than media as a whole, is being strangled out of existence by the day.

some personal news: Friday was my last day at Paste. i am beyond gutted, but most importantly, so unbelievably proud of the TV section that i put my heart & soul into over the past two years. it was such an honor to work with incredible writers & editors, & i’ll miss it so dearly
