Maybe I’m missing something, but why couldn’t Rhaenyra just claim Vermithor? We’re constantly told Vermithor was the second-largest dragon alive after Vhagar. So if Aemond and Vhagar were the biggest threat in the war… why wasn’t the solution as simple as putting Rhaenyra on Vermithor and challenging him directly? Can dragonriders not switch dragons? Because from where I’m sitting, letting a random dragonseed ride Vermithor instead of the Queen herself sounds absolutely insane. Imagine having the biggest weapon on the board and handing it to someone else. What am I missing here?
