Former graphic designer at @AmericanU and @cisnational now happily working from home with my two feline daughters (follow them on Instagram @ arya_kiera)
Sometimes it still stops me in my tracks that because I believe insulin should be free, workers shld be paid justly, we shld house the homeless and not cage families, & that all people should be free to pursue education as they wish, for THAT we are treated as radical & dangerous.
Coronavirus poses a threat to free and fair elections.
We need vote by mail. We need online and same-day registration. We need extended early voting and hours. We need real money for governments to administer elections safely.
Our healthcare, grocery, warehouse, and delivery workers need more than our gratitude. They need:
- Overtime/hazard pay
- Paid leave
- Health coverage
- $ for childcare
- Safety & sanitation equipment
It’s not enough to thank our frontline workers. We need to fight for them.
As a former health insurance exec, I don’t think any story better illustrates my old industry’s racket than the one I’m about to tell you: Right now, as we enter the worst public health crisis of our lifetimes (#COVID19), health insurers are still raking in record profits. (1/11)
I get that plenty of liberals prefer Biden to Bernie, but the silence about Tara Reade’s rape accusation against Biden is still pretty mind-boggling. Has any mainstream liberal so much as commented on it?
There is no politician in America who fights harder for the working class than Bernie Sanders.
So proud to work for this man.

Seeing all these rich folks get tipped off about the coronavirus before us, seeing them sell their stocks before the market plummeted, and seeing them get tested for the virus before us makes it pretty clear: Extreme capitalism is taking us all the way back to the Feudal Ages.
Our hospital floor is full and we need open beds for the imminent COVID surge.
But multiple patients of mine can’t leave the hospital because they’re awaiting prior auths from commercial insurers.
Insurance companies are clogging up the system in the middle of a damn pandemic.
Americans love free healthcare, paid family leave, paid sick days, and $1,000 checks during emergencies
but maybe if we had these things year round, it would be less of an emergency today
American media has convinced millions of voters that even if you want something better, it’s not possible so don’t vote for it. Aim for half a loaf and hope you get some crumbs.
Democrats in Florida, Illinois and Arizona all support replacing private health insurance with a single government plan. Dems in every state with exit/entrance polls before today have said they do too.
Congratulations to @Marie4Congress in #IL03
This isn’t just a loss for one incumbent.
It’s a defeat for machine politics and big corporate donors who want to stop our movement for Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, and reproductive rights.
Please consider adopting or fostering a pet to help your local shelter in case they start to receive an increase in the number of requests to provide foster care for pets of people who will be seriously ill or hospitalized. #COVID19
We're looking for adopters and fosters to help us keep our numbers at a manageable level during #COVID19. Pets make excellent work at home assistants! Please stop by 8464 Beach Blvd. and take home a pet today, for a few weeks or fur-ever. 😁
Every moderator and Democratic candidate who assailed #Medicare4All over the past year needs to explain why they think our healthcare system is acceptable as is.
#CoronaOutbreak
#WeNeedBernie bc he is the candidate who understands the gravity of this moment. He has a plan to strengthen the public institutions that've been deeply eroded by years of corporate greed and profiteering. He speaks with moral clarity and profound detail in what needs to be done.
Right about now would be a great time to weigh emergency measures like:
- Extending Medicare/Medicaid coverage to all
- Eviction freezes
- No-strings UBI programs
- Eliminating work requirements for SNAP &other assistance
- Humanitarian provisions in prisons & decarceral policies
“The generation gap that separates Democrats of Cisneros’s ilk from the party’s more conservative Establishment has as much to do with ideology as it does with age. If the party concedes nothing to the young left, it will weaken itself.” #OurRevolutionnymag.com/intelligencer/2020…
