I wish there was a way I could share my 86 year old Mother in Law’s recent NHS pathway with people who truly wanted to learn from this and make the systems better. Fantastic professionals doing their best, but 5 days in hospital for a ‘well patient’ in an acute setting???

6 phone calls to NHS ward for updates on MIL condition and told ‘she is being weaned off oxygen’. Staff told 6 times she requires long term oxygen - visit found her without oxygen. Staff apologise for ‘mistake’ finally - dementia is hard enough. LISTEN and act.
