ALT As we move closer to 30 June, the window to put effective year-end strategies in place is narrowing quickly. Decisions made over the coming weeks may have a significant impact on tax outcomes, cash flow and long-term planning opportunities. Many strategies require action before 30 June, not after. Waiting until July may mean certain opportunities are no longer available.
ALT Now in the final weeks before Payday Super starts, here's a reminder of what to focus on in the lead up to 1 July 2026.
ALT Failure to do so can impact receiving FTB supplements and top-ups, and reduce your CCS to zero.
ALT Work through each item: If you can tick “Yes,” you’re on track. If you’re “Not sure,” that’s a conversation to have with your accountant before July.

ALT For employers and SMSF trustees, the shift from quarterly super payments to paying super at the same time as wages will require changes to payroll processes, cash flow management, reporting and payment systems. Contributions will generally need to reach employees’ super funds within 7 business days of payday.
ALT If your business uses the ATO’s Small Business Superannuation Clearing House to process super payments, now is the time to prepare. Many payroll platforms have super payment functionality—check if yours can support the switch. With Payday Super approaching from 1 July 2026, this is a good opportunity to review your payroll and super processes ahead of the changes.
ALT There were no superannuation changes announced in the 2026–27 Federal Budget, with the focus instead on tax measures. Recent updates outside the Budget include changes to the super performance test and pension supplement arrangements for Australians living overseas.
