Just one of many comments left on a post about pistachios being served around a passenger on @southwestair with a severe #nutallergy—even after the #airline had been alerted to the risk.
I am so tired of this argument.
What makes comments like this so frustrating is that the requested accommodation is incredibly small. No one is asking fellow passengers to suffer. .
The request is simple: don't serve the nuts immediately around an allergic passenger and let nearby passengers know there is a serious allergy onboard.
That's not hysteria.
That's not entitlement.
That's basic risk mitigation and human decency in a shared space.

"Advocacy groups like No Nut Traveler continue pushing for broader accommodation protections, improved airline consistency, modernized emergency kits, better reporting requirements and greater public awareness.
Until those systems improve, education and preparation remain our most effective tools."
Families with #foodallergy can prepare for ✈️flying by reviewing airline policies, documenting accommodations, carrying their own food and having an #anaphylaxis action plan, Dr. Douglas H. Jones writes in his latest column.
