“What almost no union does is actually organize their members as members in their own communities to build community power. I teach workers to take over their unions and change them.” RIP Jane McAlevey nytimes.com/2024/07/07/busin…

Hello. Has anyone ever become so obsessed with their d&d character that you're in denial about them actually possibly dying at some point?

I wonder if any of fish harvesters asked the premier for a cordial meeting over a cup of tea to discuss their issues? Don't they know that asking nicely is how we got all these human rights we have nowadays? Definitely not through bloodshed on picket lines or anything. #nlpoli

I got banned from r/communism for crowdsourcing Marxist quotes to use for my DnD character's spoken word(a bard, obv). I'll radicalize more people during a campaign than you ever will being crotchety on reddit, turbovacuumcleaner.

Over 150,000 federal public servants went on strike this spring, mainly over being mandated to go back into the office. Most of these public servants are older than millennials. People value autonomy and choice, regardless of age.
Replying to @kristinaennis
Having the autonomy to choose is what is desired. Much of the time people actually choose to work at the office. It’s more about the choice. When you are meeting expectations at work and still face micromanaging, it’s difficult to continue to feel untrusted or micromanaged.

I'm dying at conservatives passing out beer at Pride as an attempt at allyship. 🤣🤣🤣 This is the straightest shit I've ever seen. #nlpoli

If all the performers(or the majority of) organized and refused to perform without a standard fee, places like velvet would have to pay more. The owner of velvet sucks. Force them to do better. A drag performer union of sorts.
If Velvet can put off Fetish Night, have hundreds of people pay $20 at the door, and make over $10k in bar sales, they can afford to pay a cast of drag performers more than $225 on Friday and Saturday nights. Yes, $225 split between however many performers are on the bill.
