I highly recommend watching "take care of Maya". It's about the medical system labeling parents as abusive when they don't understand an illness. The medical trauma caused by this labeling is immense and the financial cost is incredibly placed on families who never made a choice.

Allowing zoom cameras to be off is an accommodation and provides accessibility. There is a huge misconception that having your camera off equals to "not paying attention". It's ableist!.

Many people have very productive calls without their cameras on. There are many reasons why a person may want their camera off such as reducing overstimulation, reducing stress in their eyes especially if their vision is impacted by devices,

being able to focus more, being able to fidget in order to concentrate without judgment, etc. Asking someone to turn on their cameras is ableist.

"Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story" is about psychosis and I don't know why these people don't consult with people with lived experience.

When will national tv stop portraying psychosis as violent or harmful, or something where people should be completely isolated or else they will become the killer or an out of control person?. The narratives around psychosis continue to be harmful and many will not seek support

Amanda recognized that she needed help. SHE was the one who made the 911 call to help herself. Please be mindful how you frame stories. Knowing that she understood she needed help and actively sought it is very important. Don't take that away from her.

Amanda Bynes has been placed on a psychiatric hold after she was found roaming the streets of Los Angeles naked and alone, TMZ reports. She reportedly waved a car down and told the driver she was having a psychotic episode, then called 911 herself.

β€œAmanda Bynes, naked and alone, recognized she was experiencing psychosis and called 911 to seek psychiatric care” There, fixed it. Words matter. Agency matters. Dignity matters. The fact that she recognized her need for help & was able to seek that help should be applauded.
