We fully support the race as it promotes health, tourism, and highlights the need for open spaces.
However, there should be a way to mount it without compromising the safety of ordinary commuters.

- Moving people, not cars, should guide transport decisions
The EDSA Busway remains one of the most effective transport interventions in Metro Manila, reliably serving close to 200,000 commuters daily. Letting private cars use the exclusive bus lane would weaken the public transport system and reduce the benefits for the commuters

The EDSA rebuild presents a crucial opportunity to reconfigure the roadway more equitably by prioritizing people-efficient transport modes. This approach will enable EDSA to sustain — or even improve — its people throughput despite reduced road space.
🧵
For this to happen, collaboration, political will, and a whole-of-government approach are essential.
We commend the DOTr's proactive efforts and hope they can continue to champion for the everyday Filipino.
We hope MMDA, DPWH, and concerned LGUs will further strengthen their engagement to understand on-the-ground realities and ensure inclusive solutions.
