WEAR STURDY SHOES advised Mary Edwards Walker when you go marching. She urged women to protest wearing comfortable clothing and taking a sandwich. In Destiny's Daughter her philosophy parallels today's women. Facebook.com/frances.altman.…

I love meeting first time authors such as Eve Vogelstein whose new photo picture book "Prince Charming in the Garden of Eve" features a rare blue frog who has been living in her garden for two years.

Today, Feb. 3 is National Women 's Physicians Day. It also gives me the opportunity to thank all for reading my book, Destiny's Daughter, about Mary Walker, America's first surgeon. Excellent read for March Women's History Month. Thanks Doc!

A RUMOR on X said President Trump would seek out a second woman to receive Medal of Honor. Mary Edwards Walker was the first. An ideal read for March Women's History Month.

Thanks to everyone who read Destiny's Daughter these past several months. Yes, Mary Edwards Walker was a tough, assertive suffragist and is still a terrific role model. amazon.com/author/francesalt… Start the year with gusto!

Happy Birthday to Mary Edwards Walker, Suffragist and recipient of the Medal of Honor. After spending years researching her it's difficult to untangle from her. It's particularly a time to think of her as she urged women to think for themselves and recognize self-worth.
