With the Skyride set to reopen this weekend, today we head back to the original @altontowers Cable Car ride, which served the park for over 20 years, opening in 1963, before closing in 1986 with the new Skyride opening the following year. #ThrowbackThursday

Let's look back this #ThrowbackThursday at Enterprise!
Opening in 1984 in what's now Dark Forest, this classic Huss ride was relocated to X Sector in 1998.
Closing at the end of 2021, the area & queueline is set to be reused for an indoor attraction.

Plans have been published for the proposed “walk through attraction building” at Alton Towers. Located in X Sector, on the former sites of Submission & Enterprise, the building will have "industrial-themed finishes" - could it be used for a new Scarefest attraction?

Alton Towers have announced Twilight at the Towers, which will see the theme park open until 8pm during May Half Term (22nd-31st May)!

The Rapids are closed in March until May, but Congo River Rapids - turn 40 this year! 🌊
They opened 1986, and today are the oldest ride in the park! Originally named Grand Canyon Rapids.
In 1992 a new was created known as Katanga Canyon, introduced Runaway Mine.
