The Vice Chancellor Prof. Gitau this morning continued his strategic engagements with key University stakeholders, meeting the leadership of the University of Nairobi Alumni Association
@AlumniUON. The engagements form part of ongoing efforts to foster stronger institutional cohesion, enhance collaboration, and build renewed momentum towards the University’s strategic priorities.
Guided by the Alumni Association’s theme, “Our Alumni, Our Strength,” the engagement underscored a clear strategic imperative to unlock and actively mobilize the full potential of the University’s more than 286,000-strong alumni network as a central pillar of institutional transformation.
The discussions recognized that alumni are not simply former students, but the University’s most significant living legacy, with influence across national leadership: the judiciary, academia, government, industry, business, and innovation. This network represents a powerful source of expertise, goodwill, resources, and strategic influence.
The engagement therefore emphasized the need to reactivate structured and meaningful alumni participation in the University’s core agenda, including student mentorship, research collaboration, resource mobilization, industry linkages, and strengthening the University’s global visibility and impact.
