Lots of talk about how the social contract was violated as Anthropic and OpenAI stole our data to train their models but stayed private until $1T valuation so the public couldn’t even benefit from price appreciation
$RDDT is the answer. This is how you get paid for your data. Once people realize this, the stock is going to go on a generational up-only run like
$NVDA
Reddit is also a much more ethical form of social media (no, not be because it’s filled with liberals) because it brings us back to a forum-driven experience where you can converse with experts on any niche topic without being bombarded with bait and slop on the FYP. I think this will be rewarded with capital and more users as the rest of social media continues to sloppify their algorithms
I also think the forum-driven nature of Reddit is why it’s so valuable as training data. There’s no other site on this planet that has as many experts in as many diverse niche topics. If you think about it, LLMs are like having a redditor on demand for whatever question you have in that moment. Much better than google because you can ask follow ups, and better than actual reddit because you don’t need to wait for replies.
OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google know this, they will pay top dollar. And Reddit knows they have all the leverage
I started a position a few weeks ago around $152 and just added a lot of size today at $165. This is a long-term hold so i don’t have an exit price
Reddit is the Nvidia of training data. This is going A LOT higher
It’s clear that all these LLMs are trained on Reddit. They initially signed data licensing deals in ‘23 (before the entire world was using AI) but they need to renew those contracts within the next 12 months
Reddit is going to make a lot of money
