After everything, Samantha just wanted some quiet mundanity. Then, her powers began mutating, she became plagued by visions of the apocalypse, and she discovered she might have been in love with her best friend this entire time. Pray for her folks, she'll need all the divine intervention she can get. #books #LGBTQ #fantasy #LGBTFiction #KindleUnlimited #kindlebooks amazon.com/dp/B0G2J398PQ

Wait. So are their people that just… start writing their book without an outline or plan?? How??? Won’t that be so much more work in the future??? Ultimately making my outline is also my first round of revisions because it’s easier to edit 5 bullet points than an entire chapter.

Writers are like: I want to write a best-seller that everyone will read! Writers are also like: I hope I don't run into anyone I know at the grocery store.

Does anybody know a good website/place to check over your query letter for literary agents?

I think perhaps splitting my focus between finishing the final draft of my second book and starting the rough draft of my third wasn't the best plan. Ah, well, you live and you learn lol! I'll focus on finishing the final draft, then move to the rough.

Gonna be honest, when I was taking graphic design classes in high school for 4 years, I did not imagine it would be useful for making my own book covers, but hey! I ain't complaining! #author #writerscommunity #bookcover #art #writing

That’s the thing I’ve never gotten about people that use AI to actually *write* their book. Like what’s the point??? Aren’t you a writer to write? Do you want AI to live your life and accomplish your dreams for you next? Where’s your sense of shame or accomplishment???
um, you couldn’t PAY ME to touch this book or support it. never in a thousand years. wow. ew. ick.

Word choice certainly is important 🫣
'He ejaculated' was once acceptable as a dialogue tag. Times have changed. Stop trying to be vintage. Start trying not to make readers cringe.

Yes! Your rough draft is your sketch, it’s the framework, the second draft is where you start in the line-art and colors, the second draft is where everything really comes together. The rough draft is to make the story exist, the second draft is to make the story good. #writing
No, your first draft isn’t a masterpiece. It’s a starting point. Stop defending it and start revising it. Your best writing only happens after you kill your darlings.
