I don’t know what @UNMHospital is teaching their students or how they’re training their staff- but they are doing something exceptionally well. I had an unfortunate run in with a table saw this afternoon (spoiler- the table saw won) and spent the rest of my day in the er at UNM.

Considering how completely packed both the er and urgent care were- this felt superhuman. I was tended to and cared for by at least a couple dozen people today and felt seen, heard and like each person had genuine concern for my well-being and even my future plans!

After watching #ShinyHappyPeople, a thought is lingering.
I think it’s easy to judge and think “HOW COULD ANYONE DO THAT?”
But the healthier thing for me is to ask, “how am I supporting unhealthy systems in my life?”

I’ve been incredibly intimidated by framing my van. Screwing through wood metal just seemed scary. Anyway- I just screwed in my first dozen screws and it’s actually very easy!
