100% - Bolstering homegrown companies with a strong reference customer and additional revenue will help them attract more customers and private investment. Tax credits and direct funding are appreciated, but Canada adopting more Canadian-made technologies would be more impactful.

Canada needs innovation policy that includes strategic procurement. Anything less amounts to treating innovation as a national hobby.

I spoke at today's Manufacturing Summit (tl;dr): Canada needs to change policy to reduce red tape for Canadian Innovation. We need to own our standards, own our IP and the government needs to become bigger buyers to help drive commercialization and sustainability.
