Our latest Energy Right Statewide Poll shows that an overwhelming majority of Virginians, 83%, believe it’s important for the United States to prioritize energy security and independence, including 58% who say it’s very important. Whether it’s rising utility bills, strain on the grid from rapid industry growth, or broader questions about reliance on foreign energy, there’s a steady, underlying expectation that the U.S. should be in control of its own energy future, especially when it comes to avoiding rolling blackouts, fuel shortages, and sudden price spikes.
Most importantly, the message is clear: energy security isn’t partisan or temporary—it’s a baseline priority for residents.
