Dehati shows like Panchayat, Mirzapur etc have become quite hit and viral. Compare Bollywood early 2000s to now, quality has gone downhill. We have dehati politicians in important positions talking about replacing English with Hindi or some local languages. Govt keeps increasing gibs for dehat while productive cities are left in dire situation. So many dehatis have gone abroad, doing all kind of creepy things and giving bad names to rest of the NRIs. This is the victory of dehat over urban, cosmopolitan India, a victory of low cunning behaviour over urban, suave, semi-high trust society. This dehatification would only increase, and we can't do anything about it. It's already happening in front of our eyes. Politicians would keep exploiting it for vote bcz urban India doesn't care about elections. PS- dehat has nothing to do with villages. Dehatism is a state of mind.
