Huge thanks to my supervisors Emma Bird, @MatJonesBrizzle and @C_Flurey, and also to my fabulous examiners Prof Jane South and Prof Linda Gibson. I passed with minor corrections, so still some tweaks to make but very glad to have got through it! Now, please follow me on threads x

P.S. photo to demonstrate that despite my new status I remain, fundamentally, an idiot. 🤪

Outside a hotel in Redcliffe, Bristol - the hotel is being protected by hundreds of Bristolians shouting ‘We are many, you are few. We are Bristol, who are you?’ to a group of around 100 protesters who had marched on the hotel

BREAKING: The Lancet has just published this article "conservatively" estimating that the death toll in the Gaza genocide could be 186,000 people or more. That's 8% of the population, obliterated. These are apocalyptic figures. thelancet.com/journals/lance…

Things I didn't know about James Timpson And they’re all good 👍🏼
Timpson’s are well-known for employing ex-offenders to help them back into work. They pay their tax. They value their staff. And then there’s this. CEO James Timpson (who’s also Chair of the Prison Reform Trust) is the new Prisons Minister. Great appointment

Watch this it’s fascinating - I asked James Timpson what he’d do about prisons and sentencing if he was in charge. He believes only a third of prisoners in jail should definitely be there. He’s now in charge of prisons (but not sentencing).

Rayner. A woman who came from nothing and fought her way up to the role of Deputy PM and Secretary of State. What an inspiration. This will be the most working class government in British political history. No more old Etonians making decisions for us. This is hope.
