I watched the FKF Cup final between Tusker FC and Kenya Police in Kwale, and for me, the Brewers' opening goal was a masterclass in football intelligence from Fabian Adikiny.
Driving the ball forward from midfield during a quick transition, Adikiny initially had the option to feed a centrally positioned Erick Kapaito. However, Police FC defenders Charles Ouma and Abud Omar tracked Kapaito’s run perfectly. Recognizing this, Adikiny brilliantly used Kapaito as a decoy; he intentionally delayed his pass, waiting for Ian Simiyu to join the attacking before teeing up the unmarked forward, who swept it home beautifully with his left foot.
