Tragedies happen, but the @CentralParkNYC conservancy really harms its credibility when it seizes on a tragedy like this one to get rid of the horse carriages. Especially considering that a conservancy vehicle killed a rare bird -- nytimes.com/2021/08/06/nyreg… -- and that man-introduced poison (maybe in the park, maybe not) killed Flaco. Maybe it's not the animals that are the problem!

A short time later, the horse collapsed and died. A necropsy report found that the death was caused by a nonnative toxic plant.
