Huge congratulations to @AndoverEducator for securing a contract that will reopen classrooms by ensuring educators are paid a living wage, teachers can care for their loved ones when they're sick or injured, and most importantly, students are set up to succeed!
Congratulations to the hardworking teachers and staff of @AndoverEducator for their hard fought contract with essential raises for paraprofessionals and improved family leave. Thank you for your organizing and here’s to future wins.
The @AndoverEducator proved that resolve, resilience and a unified union can lead to real change. Congratulations on securing fair wages for Instructional assistants and teachers, a supportive paid leave policy and more recess and lunch time for your youngest students. #1u
.@AndoverEducator teachers are fighting for a deal that honors their remarkable work educating our children. They deserve an agreement with fair wages, strong benefits, and better working conditions that will reopen classrooms and help students thrive!
The Andover School Committee plans to hold a press conference here @ High Plain Elementary about the on-going contract negotiations w/ the Andover Education Asso. The teacher’s strike has moved inside the school. This is the 2nd day of class cancellations bc of the strike. @7News
As the @AndoverEducator strike continues, we would like to show our support for the amazing teachers who have taught my sons & their classmates. Hope the @AndoverSchools give the teachers fair livable wages that can compare to neighboring towns.

A union united can never be defeated!
We were proud to help our union siblings of @AndoverEducator hold the line today as they continued their fight for a fair contract.

Good pay, better benefits, and healthy working conditions - I’m with our @AndoverEducator teachers as they fight for their rights. I believe a fair contract can be negotiated.
I stand with our @AndoverEducator teachers as they fight for better pay, benefits, and working conditions. The Andover School Committee should agree to a fair contract.
The Andover School Commitee can settle this today by stopping the games and bargaining with us! Our instructional assistants deserve a living wage, and our students and staff deserve to have appropriate investments in their schools! #listentoeducators#faircontractnow
TEACHER STRIKE: 90% of @AndoverEducator voted to go on strike. That means no school for Andover students until a deal is reached. Among the things the union wants are:
📚Raises
✏️Protected prep time
🍎Longer lunch/recess for youngest students

Teachers should absolutely be able to strike. It's the main form of market power workers have in our economy. Anything else is an unfair market distortion. No wonder teachers are so underpaid when they have no power to fight for fairer wages! @AndoverEducator
The Andover School Committee has been saying things like this for years. If the “Strategic Plan” is to destroy educator morale, they are succeeding. #ListenToEducators
These are the folks we trust to work with some of our most vulnerable and high-need students. The Andover School Committee clearly does not appreciate and value their work.
“Compare the wages for staff, for educators, to professionals with similar educational experience — master’s degree, five to 10 years of experience — those folks make a ton more money than educators do.” — @CambEducation Pres. Dan Monahan

The Andover School Committee’s financial priorities are misguided. More money is being spent on non-student-facing management positions, meanwhile principals, teachers, and support staff are looking elsewhere. How is this good for students and our schools?
How much was a consultant paid to create an “organizational chart” that doesn’t even have classroom educators on it? What does this chart do for students in classrooms?
