New blog post: Coding NEON kernels for the Cortex-A53. In my talk about qsdr I briefly showed a hand-written assembly NEON kernel for the Cortex-A53 that is 2x faster than code generated by LLVM from Rust or C . Here I explain the details and tricks that went into this kernel.

New blog post: 5G NR PBCH. In this post I explain how to decode the Physical Broadcast Channel in 5G. This contains the Master Information Block, which is the first piece of data that a phone decodes after synchronizing to a cell. It contains basic configuration about the cell.

A bit of Spectrum Painting @ 61.44 MSPS on the LiteX-M2SDR. Same SDR with TX1 (m2sdr_play) -> RX1 (GQRX); 2Gbps in both directions.
Raw file format for m2sdr_play/record utilities is similar to BladeRF file format when board is configured in 12-bit mode and HackRF file format when in 8-bit mode.

Current resource usage of the LiteX M2SDR FPGA (XC7A200T) with LitePCIe Gen2 X4: ~6% LUTs, %3% Regs, 12% BRAM, 0% DSPs -> Still plenty of space for custom RF processing :)

Is anyone aware of an open, easy to install and performant UPF implementation? With a 80MHz 4T4R cell @srsRANProject is maxing out a single-threaded UPF at 1.1Gbps - the RAN could do more but the UPF is at its maximum.
