god it's crazy how good the SNES soundchip and the original game's soundtrack were. The music fits in so well

I'm looking forward to Switch Sports Resort, but did we really lose Frisbee Golf for a "sport" you can literally play with anyone, anywhere...for free?

Nintendo was like "well we can't remake perfection" so they moved on to the next best
This is the best Zelda game. You are allowed to have a personal favorite that isn't this one, but Link to the Past is one of the few perfect games ever made. It ages like fine wine. It's pixel perfect graphics and wonderful soundtrack are timeless. It's gameplay is laser smooth. In 40 years it will still be perfect. Search your feelings. You know it to be true.

(next best would actually be Majora's Mask, but you get me)

This is largely where I stand. Breath of the Wild was an incredible achievement, but it was so easy to spot the missed potential that I had hoped a sequel would deliver on, instead of doubling down
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was a fun game. It did a lot of things right, like having lots of towns to visit and tons to explore. But… I don’t think every Zelda game going forward needs to be this. In fact there are a lot of things I disliked about the game, such as: 1- the lame temples and shrines were not interesting or satisfying. I want traditional dungeons back. 2- breakable weapons suck. I want a better progression system back if not just the normal tool unlock system. 3- world should feel a little more intimate. I don’t want empty or small open worlds like Twilight Princess or, even worse, Skyward Sword but I want it to feel tight and purposeful again. I think a lot of Zelda fans feel the same. I wonder what Nintendo will do after the ocarina of time remake.

I think most of the lines work well for the game's new tone, but some are definitively weaker compared to the original.

I've seen enough...I can't play Star Fox S2 without the N64 controller lol. I actually think Zero's base control scheme would work beautifully here with the Pro controller: the dual thumb stick controls shoulder buttons were lowkey perfect. If only it were an option!

At this point, I think game-specific Directs are a lot more appealing. You know what you're getting into so expectations are much better set (which Nintendo apparently *tries* to be all about), and yet it can still surprise. The recent Star Fox Direct was great for what it was
I kinda wonder if Nintendo is slowly phasing out major announcements in directs and saving them for Nintendo today lol

although ironically, the latest Direct would probably have been received better if the Star Fox Direct hadn't happened.
