Ascension is finished for us, and after some reflection, I wanted to share a post about the year.
We started building this roster very late, which meant that most VCL teams had already locked in their rosters before we even began trials.
Most of our players had already been denied by other VCL projects - we were T2 rejects.
It turned out that building the roster late wasn’t as big of a problem as I feared. What came afterwards was the problem.
Throughout the year, we dealt with issues completely out of our hands - technical, practical, financial, and communication issues which became daily distractions for 10 months.
I am incredibly proud of the players for managing to prevail through all this chaos.
Nevertheless, we dominated MENA. But when the EMEA tournaments started, we didn’t level up our game like we knew we could. We had some great moments but ultimately fell short.
Ty to all the players:
@ExiTgdh ,
@sandfps ,
@SigmaZimo ,
@JesseVALORANT , and
@sickrey1.
They gave everything this year and improved a lot. I hope they get the opportunity to play in a more stable environment, so they can really showcase their high individual level.
I know they’ll learn from this year and grow even more next year - that’s just the kind of people they are.
I also want to express my gratitude to
@MAGiKzera , who was a big part of getting the snowball rolling for us and helped us secure our first VCL win.
And to our sub player
@waleedphxx, thanks for helping us win SEL Major 2.
Last but not least thanks to
@RobeR_val1 ,
@FlynVAL,
@MilanDumic and
@yoKhalidd - it was a pleasure working with you all, pushing each other, and learning together every day.
The future is uncertain right now. It’s been a complicated year, but many Challengers teams are in the same boat.
