Stuck for a 🤓 gift for a friend who works in tech? Need a nice pop of yellow to add to your bookshelf? How about a design systems (web/product design) book! Order now to ship in time for 🎄 designsystemfoundations.com. Psst: Here's a lovely review of the book by @vpieters 👇
ALT I'm convinced that this is a must-read for everyone who wants to get started with building a design system. Keeping in mind all the factors you have to consider, this is such a big endeavour that any guidance in how to approach this and how to get started is welcome. This book is just perfect in this respect. It'll help you in getting a clear view of how to start, which direction to go, which tool to use to set things up, and keep it maintained and in sync with the whole team. But it also goes beyond that as Andrew talks a lot about how you can work together as a whole team, each member with their area of expertise, designers, developers etc. on how to create the best experiences. Plus, the book is written in such a way that you don't feel like an idiot because you don't know the buzz words or typical jargon. I highly encourage and recommend you to buy this book if you are at the point of starting to build a design system. I'm sure it will inspire & empower you.
Next up is @andrewcouldwell's "Laying the Foundations", another great primer on design systems—in particular I love some of the thoughtful content on approaches to roll-out and not perfecting things too early.
So I designed and built a simple, content-driven one-page website. The design is super minimal, so the experience needed to be more captivating. So I added a subtle delayed scroll, animated load of content, and changing colours as you scroll.
New Website Inspiration:
Beautiful animations, crisp typography and I'm a huge fan of the generous whitespace in this long-scrolling One Page portfolio for product designer @andrewcouldwell

Go read Laying the Foundations (designsystemfoundations.com) by @andrewcouldwell as it'll give you a great way to communicate through design systems rather than pretty pictures.
Man I just finished this book and it opened totally new horizons and ideas how to systemize my own development process and how to create better #designsystems for our clients.
Highly recommend for any UI designer and Web developer👌
Anyone here using the @Google Pixel Stand? Photo Frame is one of it's best features, which worked the first few times I used it, then just stopped working. No settings changed, updates, nothing. Searching online, it seems like a common fault with no fix! 😞 Anyone found a fix?
So for anyone who finds this tweet and is looking for a potential fix... The power at my house cutout, forcing my Pixel Stand to reboot. When it did, the Photo Frame starting working again! 🤷♂️ Don't you just hate it when that happens 🤦♂️
