Many congratulations Flick!
Huge congratulations to our Flick for being made an honorary alderman in Camden. Throughly well deserved after so many years of service to the people of Camden.

Appalling news. A Camden anecdote: David Amess twice unexpectedly beat longstanding Camden cllr Julian Fulbrook in Basildon. Julian told me once that after the 83 declaration Amess more or less apologised to him for having beaten him, the highly fancied London lawyer

Very sad to hear. May he rest in peace. One regular image in my mind is Eric standing, hovering at the back of the council chamber, trying to spot what was really going on.
Our sympathies are with the family, friends & everyone who knew & worked with Eric Gordon, founding editor of @NewJournal, who died yesterday. Eric built a newspaper covering every inch of Camden - and its influence goes much further. It is an integral part of Camden's identity.

Well the @FT better increase its coverage of private credit << Nest plans bold expansion into private markets via @FT on.ft.com/2LCpBkc

Johnson had better come up with some better lines on Scotland than he managed on #Marr today

What nonsense. Serious historians can’t judge what attitude Thatcher would have taken to Brexit, as her sympathetic biographer Charles Moore agrees. We do know she backed a meaningful increase in QMV in the EU to make the Single Market a reality.
Whilst Margaret didn’t live long enough to see this day, I am sure that she is rejoicing in heaven. At last we ‘got Brexit done’!

A particularly bonkers @SteveBakerHW tweet. A State Dept investigation found that Ambassador Johnson had made inappropriate or insensitive comments to embassy staff.
Best ambassador ever.
Well said Stephen. We should always describe it as the hard Brexit deal. Am worried that some see more of a compromise here than is the case.
The claim by @BorisJohnson that there are "no new non tariff barriers to trade" in the EU Agreement is jaw dropping. The whole purpose of 2000 pages is to create barriers that do not exist today.

Four and a half years to plan and it’s a shambles. The Johnson govt, the @Conservatives and Brexiteers generally are to blame for this.
Look at all that sovereignty....

Nice to see a fleeting shot of a young @John_Mills_JML, the former @CamdenLabour councillor, in the second episode of Marr’s New Elizabethans on BBC. Those 1975 sideburns!

If Mr Johnson fails to reach an acceptable trade agreement with the EU the Prime Minister will also have failed the people of the United Kingdom. As a lifelong member of the Conservative Party, I believe that Mr Johnson's position as Prime Minister would be untenable. 1/2

.@CDU first leadership debate tonight. Three serious, able candidates - all with experience and judgement that would leave most of the current UK cabinet in the shade

longterm damage more important, but shortterm disruption will lead to fringe group demos outside EU offices in UK, tabloid calls to boycott EU goods etc. It will get bad. Public opinion will divide sharply, with some blaming EU intransigence even as support for Brexit falls

London Tory mayoral candidate @ShaunBaileyUK seems keen to talk about many global issues, which is fine, but curiously reticent to talk about #Brexit
London is a global city with global responsibilities. So on #HumanRightsDay, let’s stand with persecuted Uighur Muslims and Hong Kong citizens. Let’s detwin London from Beijing and send a message to the world: London will always stand up for human rights.
How delightful to see Peter Symonds, stalwart of South Hampstead CRASH residents assn, playing a cameo of Hardy Amies in episode 8, season 4 of @TheCrownNetflix m.imdb.com/name/nm0843366/?r…

Turning off Twitter until tmrw. Very rare I’m ashamed of the Conservative Party but I am tonight. The PM fiddling with his phone on the frontbench, ignoring parliamentary scrutiny. And Tory MPs queuing up to endorse a Bill they know breaks international law. What next Dom?
No. You’re voting to break international law. You’re voting to break an Agreement you voted for just 9 months ago. You’re voting to give up on dispute resolution mechanisms before they’ve even been tried. You’re voting to give China, Russia, Iran excuses for future law-breaking.

He had expressed himself maybe unfortunately, but as a liberal @LibDems I’m not keen on too much pressure for loyalty tests. Free speech!
To be clear: I have full respect for the Black Lives Matter movement, and the issues driving them. If people wish to take a knee, that’s their choice and I respect it. We all need to come together to tackle any discrimination and social injustice.
Rather agreed with this @going4golds
From @going4golds: The Left’s hypocrisy over Robert Milligan bit.ly/37sEg8r
Keir Starmer on BBC Look East now after his virtual meeting in Ipswich. Talking racism, apology for anti semitism etc. Talk about message discipline for a four year campaign.
