Great job by the @FBI 👇
On June 10, FBI and our law enforcement partners became aware of a potential threat to the UFC America 250 event in Washington, D.C. involving individuals outside of the National Capital Region – and thanks to the rapid action of this FBI, our partners, and the Department of Justice in a multi-state operation, multiple individuals are now in custody and allegedly planned attacks were stopped cold. While the result represented the best of investigative work, it was also nothing out of the ordinary for this law enforcement team – we are built to detect, respond to, and bring to justice those who threaten the lives of American citizens - particularly during large gatherings like the historic UFC 250 fight. That’s exactly what we did here. I want to thank our great agents and partners, this work remains ongoing and we will continue to update the public as permitted.    We continue to encourage any American to report anything suspicious at 1-800-CALL-FBI or tips.fbi.gov.”

BREAKING: Italian Beef has announced its intentions to relocate from Chicago to Indianapolis, Indiana. A Chicago staple since the Great Depression, Italian Beef cited high crime, corruption and an overall unfriendly business climate as its reasons for leaving Chicago and Illinois.

Hoosiers, help me welcome the Chicago Bears to our great state! We look forward to building a partnership as strong as the '85 Bears defense, creating opportunities and economic growth that will benefit our state and the Bears organization for decades to come. An NFL franchise in Northwest Indiana will be an economic boost to the entire region like we haven’t seen before. Thank you to Speaker Huston, the legislature, and Mayor McDermott for their partnership. I also want to thank the entire Chicago Bears organization for their partnership and commitment in making this move a reality. Welcome to Indiana!

This is so sad. And infuriating. Anyone who’s spent time in Washington, D.C. over the last couple years can attest that Indianapolis does NOT have to normalize or tolerate this kind of violence. It can be dealt with, if leaders have the will. Allowing it to persist is a choice.
Horrific update to breaking news I reported on Thursday. The young man shot in the parking garage in downtown Indianapolis near the convention center has died. The Marion County coroner confirms 23-year-old Brett Scrogham died from his injuries. Multiple sources have told me and I have confirmed through IU’s online records that Scrogham recently graduated from IU’s Kelley School of Business and was named one of the top in his class. Multiple sources also tell me that Brett was parking in the garage downtown near the convention center to attend the Indians game with his family when he was shot. We have reached out to IMPD to see if an arrest has been made in this case and we are still waiting to hear back. More to come.

David Malukas delivered the drive of his career at today’s 110th Indianapolis 500, battling at the front and crossing the line 2nd in the closest finish the race has ever seen. The 24-year-old Team Penske driver is the son of Lithuanian immigrants who came to America after the Soviet Union’s collapse — his father a truck driver, his mother a dispatcher, who together built a trucking company and the foundation for their son’s dream. Ahead of the green flag, Malukas spoke with Freedom 250 about what drives him: “Freedom means everything to me. It’s the reason why I’m standing here today.”
