Freezing rain and slippery conditions are coming to much of Nova Scotia today. Consider staying home. If you do go out, please be careful. Slow down, give yourself lots of time and leave space for plows & salt trucks. Call 5-1-1 or follow @511ns for the latest road conditions.

With freezing rain warnings issued across Nova Scotia, it’s important that you prepare properly. Freezing rain can build up on surfaces, leading to dangerous conditions for walking and driving, falling tree branches, and potential power outages. Monitor local weather reports for more information and be prepared to change your plans. For more information, visit: emergencyinfo.novascotia.ca/…. The Long Lake wildfire is now under control. It's a key milestone in any wildfire. Under control means the fire is responding well to suppression efforts. It is not expected to grow, but it is still not extinguished. Having reached this milestone, this is our last regular update.

We are at extreme risk of wildfire due to hot dry conditions and no rain in sight. We need to stop wildfires before they start. Activities in woods are restricted, open fires are banned. Fine for violations is $25,000. Questions? Contact a local office: novascotia.ca/natr/staffdir/…

As Paramedic Week ends, I’m thinking of the colleagues I once stood beside and the friends still serving today. You put patients first, often at great personal cost. Your impact is lasting, and so is our gratitude. We see you. We thank you. #ParamedicWeek #EMS
