The world isn’t always good, but the @QAGreenways #Playstreet is truly a magical event that makes our city and souls better.

Cool to see (and use!) the new path last night - excited for this to be part of the regular flow of people walking and biking.

The shelters strike me as "a little too design forward to be useful" but we'll wait and see. The overall fit and finish of the project seemed great, and I'm excited to explore when it's fully open (and fully light out).

...And for those of you in the area checking out new land use, may I strongly recommend the City's newest (and best?!) corner shop!

Seeing @KingCountyMetro staff doing rider outreach makes me so happy. Proving to people that we want them to ride by helping them understand our changes can take more than a sign and updated Google Maps. Good on yah Metro!

For example, I was extolling its glory way back in 2018: x.com/Andrew_Koved/status/11…

One of the truly outstanding pieces of infrastructure in our region is the Foothills Trail. It was filled today wth people of all types, enjoying the sun and the outdoors. Thank you @PierceCo for building out and maintaining such a wonderful trail 🥰

I've been informed that this tweet was 2019, but the point holds. I first rode my bike on the Foothills Trail in 2012, and have daydreamed about it ever since. Everyone deserves amazing public accommodations like this - interconnected towns, bucolic nature, and helpful amenities.

You know that one intersection that you go by all the time in the Summer, and every time you say: "I *have* to come back with a weed wacker. These overgrown weeds are going to get someone killed!". Well this weekend I finally did that 🧑‍🌾

Sure there are good systematic approaches to making our built environment safer (Find It Fix It, proactive landscape design, etc). But also a lending tool library and a free hour can make a difference. If you're interested in safer trails, consider joining @SEAStreetFixers

On a personal level, yard work can be very cathartic! Making an intersection safer with a few "brrrrrrrraaapps" of the string trimmer feels so good!

We're about halfway through 1.3 miles of 4th Ave bike lane upgrades. Since March, we have installed concrete curbs between Jefferson and Olive streets. This week crews began work on the Stewart Street block. We expect remaining blocks of the project to be completed by July.
We’re adding durable, safe concrete protection to the 4th Ave bike lanes from Jefferson to Vine (1.3 miles). Construction begins today. Sign up for updates and get info here: seattle.gov/transportation/p…

One of the best part of travel is seeing in real life the cool projects people post on here. Love seeing the people provided bench at the bus stop in Oakland. Well done @IDoTheThinking! Side note, that trench between the sidewalk and raised crossing is .... notable.
