A one-year moratorium on new data centers passed in Albany this year. A group of GOP lawmakers are urging Gov. Hochul to veto the bill, arguing it's "the wrong answer to the right questions," about data centers impact on the communities that host them. nny360.com/top_stories/after…

Character matters. Telling the truth matters. Anthony lied about and disparaged Charlie. This after Charlie delivered 2024 for the President. He lied about me and my family. Now he is lying about a decorated Marine. He cannot be trusted. Anthony is not “conservative” in any sense of the word. He is not the future we should want for the Republican Party. The majority will be decided by a small number of house races. If he wins this primary on June 23, NY21 will be in play & the DCCC will pour in millions. This is my home. It has been my family’s home for generations. I will fight to defend it.
🚨Statement from @joshcparker: This is Josh Parker from Canton. Charlie Kirk was like a brother to me. He was the best man at my wedding. That is why I can't stay silent in the face of Anthony Constantino's horrible disrespect. Constantino doesn’t want you to see this video, where he called CHARLIE KIRK a GRIFTER who begged people for money. This isn't a one-off! In a recent tantrum, Constantino called Robert Smullen (a decorated Marine) a “f---ing coward"! Anthony Constantino's pattern of hate and disrespect DOES NOT represent North Country values. His unstable behavior and lack of character make him unfit to serve our district. Robert Smullen served his country in the Marines. He understands sacrifice, honor, and hard work. He will represent us well. Please join me in voting for Robert Smullen. We will not allow a lifelong Democrat to buy our home district.

🚨 BAAAAD BILL Alert🚨 Really bad
NEW: This announcement has sparked a big pushback from major building unions, now working to kill the bill and the moratorium (or urge a future Hochul veto). Updates coming.

The system is badly broken. Someone was beaten inside a state prison, and it was not a CO. The violence behind these walls spares no one who works there. Now you know why there was a walkout. Now you know why patience is running thin. And now you know COs are not the only ones at risk. Add the daily drug exposure, and it is clear. Albany needs to fix what it broke.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: May 28, 2026 Contact: Jack LaRose | Assemblyman Scott Gray Joins Bipartisan State Legislator Delegation to France for In-depth Look at Nuclear Energy Production   Assemblyman Scott Gray, ranking member of the Assembly Committee on Energy, this week joined a delegation of state legislators in France for a comprehensive study of the nation’s nuclear energy enterprises, touring facilities operated by EDF, Orano and Framatome. The week offered a rare end-to-end view of the nuclear sector. With EDF, the delegation examined the utility and grid-side operations. With Orano, the focus shifted to the fuel cycle. And at Framatome, the legislators saw firsthand the quality and safety standards necessary to produce a reactor. “To see this industry from the grid all the way through to the manufacturing of a reactor, in one week, was simply outstanding and invaluable,” said Assemblyman Gray. “As New York and states across the country prepare for the expansion of nuclear power generation, the knowledge gained on a trip like this is incredibly important. You cannot replace standing inside these facilities and seeing the work being done with your own eyes.” Assemblyman Gray extended his gratitude to EDF, Orano, and Framatome for their hospitality throughout the visit and to the National Conference of State Legislatures for organizing the trip and extending the invitation. He was joined by four other state legislators, representing Washington, Minnesota, Texas and Kentucky. He also thanked the Nuclear Energy Institute, whose technical expertise helped focus each stop along the way. “My thanks go to each of these companies for opening their doors, to the National Conference of State Legislatures for putting this together and to the Nuclear Energy Institute for the technical grounding that made every stop meaningful,” Gray said. “This is exactly the kind of preparation we need as we look toward the future of energy generation in New York and beyond.”   Assemblyman Scott Gray represents the 116th District, Jefferson and St. Lawrence Counties. He serves as the Ranking Member on the Assembly Standing Committee on Energy.   -30-

The irony while touring and learning nuclear plants in France, reliable baseload power ensures the lights stay on and bills remain affordable. Meanwhile, back in planet Albany, many prefer to say no rather than say yes—and how. @NEI @AlexBGault @sarbetter @jack_arpey @poozer87 @7newswwny @TimKnauss

If you represent a border community and vote for this legislation, it's difficult to explain why you would support the pre-9/11 approach of siloing law enforcement and banning inter-agency cooperation.

“This legislation strikes a practical balance: it allows continued development of critical digital infrastructure.” After reviewing this part of the sponsor’s memo, it is difficult to support a ban or a moratorium on data centers if you voted in favor of this legislation.

Today the Assembly is finally voting to raise the volunteer firefighter & EMS tax credit from $200 to $800. My colleague @JosephAngelino forced this fight last week on A.1064. Long overdue. To every volunteer in the 116th who answers the call: thank you.

Most of the climate fight is just political theater. The ratepayer crushed under it isn’t. The bill at your kitchen table? That’s real unaffordability caused by this political food fight. nytimes.com/2026/05/09/opini…

It was a privilege to welcome Major General Scott Naumann, Senior Commander of the 10th Mountain Division, and Garrison Commander Colonel Jason Adler to the Capitol today for Fort Drum’s day in Albany. Fort Drum is one of the most consequential economic and strategic assets in New York State, and the partnership between the installation, our soldiers and families, and surrounding North Country communities is what makes the mission possible. Grateful for their leadership and continued engagement with state government.

New Yorkers deserve better. A state budget should be delivered on time, with transparency, accountability, and respect for taxpayers. Missing the April 1 deadline is more than a procedural failure.

Silver lining-Rejoice, New Yorkers. The Majority now has precious little time left to pass all those bad bills stacking up on the calendar. Small mercies. "I have to try to pass all of the priority bills the members want in a month,” spectrumlocalnews.com/nys/ce…

Governors from 6 New England states have issued a joint statement supporting the continued operation of existing nuclear facilities and exploring opportunities for advanced nuclear energy across the region. They are directing state energy offices to evaluate pathways for potential deployment of advanced nuclear, including financing approaches and public-private partnerships. The focus is not only on new development, but also on maintaining reliable output from the existing nuclear fleet as electricity demand continues to grow across New England. Overall, this reflects growing state-level interest in nuclear energy as a firm, 24/7 carbon-free generation source to support grid reliability and long-term energy planning.
