"... they leave it up to Ts to choose what to teach from a set of dot points... some students learn things in a particular school year that others don’t." Creating quality resources is a huge responsibility. Great to see @OchreEducation supporting Ts. shorturl.at/dgzQV

An evaluation of 500,000 student writing samples has revealed a correlation between understanding sentence structures and writing well. It appears that good writers have (i) good knowledge of sentence structures and (ii) wide vocabularies while struggling writers do not.
Every year we assess hundreds of thousands of pieces of writing using our innovative Comparative Judgement software. We are gaining huge insights into what students find easy and hard about writing. We are now ready to start sharing our insights!

Been looking at career education plan templates on @DETVic site. 5 versions per yr level: a “career plan doc” then for Koorie, EAL, low SES (WTF?) & yp with disabilities. I’m shocked- talk about low expectations. For yr10 only diff b/w the 1st version and Koorie is the pics!!

Quote in today’s @theage by Evan Thornley re the Property Mkt: “he is puzzled that in an industry where so much comprehensive data is available, weapons grade bullshit remains widespread” Could be talking about teaching literacy too. Weapons Grade Bullshit. I’m going to use it.
