Enough is enough. At what point do we stop pretending this is normal? At what point do we stop allowing @realDonaldTrump to insult women, berate women, threaten women, degrade women, and then hide behind power like he is untouchable? He has been doing this his entire life. In business. In politics. In the courts. In the Epstein circle. And now, as president of the United States, he uses the most powerful platform in the world to attack women who speak out, women who stand up, women who dare to tell the truth. Look at what he is doing to E. Jean Carroll. A jury found him liable for sexually abusing and defaming her — and instead of accountability, he keeps attacking. He keeps trying to intimidate. He keeps using power as a weapon. And that is exactly the point. This is not just about insults. This is about control. He takes away women’s rights. He attacks women’s credibility. He covers up the Epstein files. He protects the powerful men while attacking the women who survived them. He wants women silent. He wants survivors scared. He wants the country numb. No more letting powerful men abuse women and then call themselves victims. No more silence. Yesterday I wrote that there is no such thing as #TwoTierPolicing in the UK. I was subjected to thousands of abusive responses and threats — but it's true. Today may be worse — anti-white racism. Anyone using this term in the UK today should be ashamed of themselves. It is nothing but a racist dog whistle, and not a subtle one. Another barely coded trope being liberally dished out by Reform UK — Farage, Jenrick and Yusuf have all used the term this week. Growing up in Scotland, we learned very little about global history — a lot about Wallace, the Bruce and Bannockburn — but it wasn't until I moved down to England at the age of ten and into middle school, that I became fully aware of the historical horrors of racism. Apartheid. Slavery. Colonialism. White Supremacy. Nazism. Segregation. These historical events did not involve white people being persecuted, murdered because of the colour of their skin. So for today's neo-racists and far-right parties to start claiming prejudice because they are white, is both grossly historically inappropriate and, as Farage knows only too well, reigniting genuine racism within the disenfranchised white population of the UK. An education issue. A poverty issue. A systemic degradation of our working classes issue. A critical thinking issue. Nigel Farage and Rupert Lowe know this, and they are highly skilled at weaponising it. They could not care less for those foot soldiers sent out to do their bidding. Ruprecht and Nigel want power at all costs. The vast majority of British people are not racist, far from it. But those being sucked into the Reform/Restore machine are being made to act this way; some without even realising what they are saying. Why does this touch me so deeply? Because I can still remember history lessons at school, and I can genuinely still feel the sense of despair I felt on learning the true evils of racism. That may sound hyperbolic, but it's true. It had fewer than 50 employees. And three months before the deal was announced, Donald Trump Jr.’s venture firm quietly took a stake in it. Here is the part the administration tried to bury. Of the dozens of companies the Pentagon was weighing, Vulcan was the only deal initiated by a top White House aide. That aide was Peter Navarro, a close friend of Trump Jr. The order came down to move fast. One official put it plainly: The call came from the White House. We have to get this done. Staff worked late nights to push it through in weeks. Deals like this normally take many months of vetting. And when it closed, Vulcan’s valuation jumped from about 200 million dollars to roughly 2 billion. A windfall for the investors, including the president’s son. This is public money. Your money. Routed through the Pentagon to enrich the president’s family and their friends. The Bush administration’s own chief ethics lawyer called it corruption we pay for. And there is more coming.
