Thank you to former student @Charlie_Faulk now writing for @thetimes who spoke to Y10/Y11 about her career. Fascinating insight into her work across the world including Afghanistan, Jordan, Palestine and Turkey covering migration, conflict and women's rights. Inspiring!

Help get Bob Allison home. Many of our community know Bob, but sadly he suffered a stroke whilst in China earlier this year and he needs our help. Please share and donate if you can to support the effort to get Bob back home. Thank you. gofundme.com/f/help-get-bob-…

Got a question for you @GavinWilliamson. What do we do if waste contractors can’t take healthcare waste from our sites?

The news is either things moving worryingly fast through Kent or things moving worryingly slowly through Kent

European isolation was what @BorisJohnson promised us at the GE last Dec. Let’s not accuse him of undelivering on this one #BrexitDisaster #coronavirusuk #covid

So on a clear 3 Tier system we now have #Tier4
#BorisJohnson has just told us that on a clear 5 point scale we are at an unambiguous 3.5.

Just heard you on R4 @NickGibbUK If you aren’t already signed up will you volunteer to help in my school? We’re going to need plenty of help, and to be honest it sounds as though you need to see how schools actually work.

If I had your foresight and planning @GavinWilliamson I’d expect the staff to revolt and the governors to sack me. How do you expect schools to implement testing with 0 days preparation?

You say: leaders need a break. Your actions say the opposite. I’m pro rapid testing but your timeframes are untenable. And why is remote learning suddenly acceptable in Jan but we’d face legal action for invoking this time in Dec?

Truth is that you need to break transmission chains, but can’t ‘close’ schools due to your previous stance, hence the sudden announcement. You are using this as a diversion. Be honest with us @GavinWilliamson and treat us with more respect

I honestly don't have the words to convey the contempt I have for the way that Williamson and DFE have handled this announcement on the start of term in January and school testing. The way they have treated dedicated staff who've bust a gut for kids all year is a total disgrace.

New plans for the end of term, but @educationgovuk @NickGibbUK your timelines are poor. Xmas bubbles can form from 23rd, when we could still be tracing. But families may have already travelled and mixed. You have not announced a benefit to public health.

Why @NickGibbUK are uni’s permitted remote learning in their end of term but not schools? Schools are delivering immediate remote learning for isolating pupils, and doing it increasingly well. Why the inconsistency? Different solutions to the same essential public health problem.

And, @NickGibbUK you have taken the role of Scrooge. Reluctantly deigning to allow school leaders to stop tracing by 23rd instead of 24th. After countless holiday and weekend days in school, you are again asking us to work through more days you say we deserve to have off.
