New paper out about "Belavkin-Staszewski Quantum Markov Chains", the analogues of QMCs for the BS-entropy! arxiv.org/pdf/2501.09708 We study their structure and some properties and applications, see @hippoquantus post. Thanks to him, Pablo and Anna for a great collaboration!

Happy to announce a new preprint together with @AngelaCapelC, Pablo Costa Rico and Anna Jenčová, in which we study a class of states we call Belavkin-Staszewski Quantum Markov Chains scirate.com/arxiv/2501.09708

Very interesting thread about quantum computing from Isaac Kim.

Lately I've been seeing a lot of hype around quantum computing on this platform. Are those bots or humans? Either way, what I'm seeing is concerning. I want to provide an honest perspective on the current status quo, which is hopefully useful. Long story short, I do think a lot of exciting progress on QC will be made over the next few years. But I doubt those progress will be commercial applications.

New paper out, entitled "Quasi-optimal sampling from Gibbs states via non-commutative optimal transport metrics" arxiv.org/pdf/2412.01732 Given a local commuting Hamiltonian, when can we prepare efficiently the Gibbs state associated with it using dissipation?

All these results require some technical inequalities of independent interest, such as weak Approximate Tensorization for the relative entropy, weak Log-Sobolev Inequalities and weak Transport Cost Inequalities. All results are collected in this picture.

The picture for rapid mixing of Davies generators associated with local commuting Hamiltonians is now close to be complete, as these results are quasi-optimal and hold for any k-locality. Thanks to my coauthors Paul Gondolf, Jan Kochanowski and @CambyseRouze !
