Sometimes Congress gets it right.
Last night, the bipartisan Renewed Hope Act passed Congress and now heads to the White House for the President’s signature. In an era when bipartisan victories are increasingly rare, this legislation represents meaningful progress in the fight against online child exploitation.
The Renewed Hope Act strengthens the ability of the Department of Homeland Security to identify victims, investigate crimes, and help rescue children from online exploitation. Protecting children should never be a partisan issue, and this bill is an important step toward giving law enforcement the tools they need to find victims and hold offenders accountable.
