Although immediate patient notification of pathology results is already common in USA and Europe, we need to consider exceptions for surgical pathology, cytology, genetics and STI testing.
RCPA calls for urgent collaboration between government and #healthcare stakeholders following the @ausgov decision to remove the 7-day delay for #pathology and #diagnostic imaging results on #MyHealthRecord. Full statement here: rcpa.me/MediaReleaseMHR #MedTwitter

As a follow up to yesterday’s post, CK5/6 and ER are not very useful and can be confusing when the intraductal proliferation consists of a pure population of intermediate and high grade nuclei. DCIS can show basal-like immunophenotype (CK5/6 positive) and can be ER variable to negative. The below images are from a case that was preliminarily called intraductal hyperplasia based on IHC findings. It is DCIS. @wusm_pathology @washupathedu #breastcancer #breastpath #PathTwitter

Thank you for your votes! These borderline lesions are difficult and there are several papers in the literature on this. See Yasir S, Gamez R, et al (2014) academic.oup.com/ajcp/articl…
