Today marks one year since Speaker Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark, and their dog Gilbert were assassinated in a horrific act of political violence. We remember their lives of service and commitment to community. Our hearts are with their loved ones and the people of Minnesota. Political violence has no place in our democracy, and we must recommit ourselves to making our communities safer for everyone.

We remember and honor the brave servicemembers who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and our freedoms.
