I attended the screening of Barnardo's Film Groups 3 films today. They were amazing & the young people did so well coming up with the concept & making the films. I'm so proud of the staff I used to work with, they did fab as well 🎬📽🎞 @BarnardosScot @NorthAADP @AyrshireFilmCo

When a young person experiences trauma, their emotional age might be halted, which can cause emotional arrested development . Higher parts of the brain are underdeveloped, lower overdeveloped/over sensitive.🧠🌱

From 1 June 2025, selling or supplying single-use vapes will be banned across the UK.
Up to 26 million disposable vapes were consumed and thrown away in Scotland in 2023.
The ban will help:
🔵 reduce waste
🔵 protect our environment
🔵 create a cleaner, greener future
ALT Single-use vapes ban to come into effect from 1 June 2025.

When our young people are highly stressed ,fight/flight/freeze response,they will have high levels of cortisol(stress hormone).This makes it harder for them to think,make decisions, reflect, problem solve & access learning.🧠🌱

Telling a child to focus or study more often does not help if they don't understand the course work. Shame does not make executive functioning any better. Neurodivergence isn't an intellectual disability and people can be really clever but still struggle. #educateyourselfplease
