I think the takeaway to me from the hurricanes winning the cup last night is that I think brind’amour is the multiplier to that roster that got them to the cup, not the talent or team building

So I don’t think “the canes won a cup with aho as 1C, anyone can do it” is the right takeaway. I think that’s a team that was engineered exactly in the vision of the head coach to execute a very specific and unique style of hockey

Which I don’t think is something that other teams can try to replicate because they don’t have brind’amour as the force multiplier. And in the modern nhl as coaches last 3-4 years I don’t think its wise to build a team based on a coach, brind’amour is just the unique circumstance
